The Bellarine Landcare Group was formed in 1994 to preserve, protect and enhance the natural environment of the Bellarine Peninsula. BLG has over 60 member
Bellarine Landcare volunteers will :
Enhance the strength of the organisation through cooperation and inclusiveness
Strive to understand and learn more about the essential elements of natural eco systems
Promote a healthy and sustainable environment
Educate and inform the rural and urban community
Collaborate with other community groups and government organisation that have similar aims and objectives
Our executive committee oversees the group’s operations, applies for project funding and together with our Landcare facilitator organises activities like weed removal, community workshops or planting days.
Our Indigenous Nursery in Drysdale is run in conjunction with Bellarine Secondary College and produces approximately 60 000 seedling per year for re-vegetation projects and for BLG members to purchase.
